These are really great tips and should help improve public speaking. I totally agree that a good powerpoint presentation is essential to a really great speech and the powerpoint must not duplicate, but complement and summarize the spoken topics so that the audience can grasp the topic being spoken upon at one glance but not lose focus on the speech itself.

For a novice and a reluctant Public Speaker that I am, with experience in Public Speaking for not more than 5 times in my entire life, some points did provide me insights on where I could be going wrong and How I can Improve.
