This is a Web 2.0 world and whoever is going to deal with you is going to check out your reputation on the Internet. They want to know about your background, activities, past history and other things about you. They do it by searching for your name and brand names and checking out the top few results. What do they say about you? Are your sites coming up in the first few results (at least top 10, may be top 20)?
I had the pleasure of listening to Kalyan Kar of Acclaris at the Calcutta chapter meet of Nasscom yesterday. A nice presentation all in all – loved the stories.
His main focus was on the fact that if we can gain the trust of the client, it is the most important asset for any service company and we can get repeat business plus endless renewals from them. I recently spoke at a Nasscom event at Calcutta, India. The topic of my presentation was “How to Get More Business From Your Website“! The event went off very well and everyone was on the edge of their seats for the entire duration (a full 2 hours, probably a first for Nasscom Calcutta).
